Open Houses provide a relaxed opportunity to learn about the Chicago Waldorf School and its curriculum, philosophy and programs.

Current faculty, staff, board members, volunteer parents, students and/or alumni tour small groups through our facility and answer your questions. Families are welcome to bring their children to Open Houses. Attendance at a School Tour and/or an Open House is a mandatory component of the application and enrollment process.

Open houses are typically held in late fall and early winter every school year. We do request an RSVP (call 773.828.8468) but certainly welcome drop-ins. Please plan to stop by the welcome table to check in.

School Tours provide our most in-depth opportunity to experience and learn about the Chicago Waldorf School and its curriculum, philosophy and programs. The morning is designed for adults only (parents, teachers and college students). We begin with introductory remarks by current faculty, followed by a tour of Early Childhood, Grade School and High School classes in session. The second hour provides an overview of Waldorf education and our curriculum at CWS. There is ample time at the end for your questions and further discussion. A curriculum display and a variety of informational pieces are also available.

Attendance at a School Tour and/or Open House is a mandatory component of the application and enrollment process. We do request an RSVP for the School Tours to enable us to prepare appropriately; please call the Admissions Office at 773.828.8468 to let us know how many of you will be attending.

Please allow yourself enough time for driving and parking to arrive promptly on School Tour mornings so that we can conduct our classroom tour before the students go outside for recess. Limited parking for School Tour is available in the lot adjacent to the west wing of the main building on Loyola Ave. On-street parking is also available; be sure to check street signage on each block for any permit restrictions. There is also easy access off the Red Line of the El train; exit at the Loyola stop and walk a block and a half west.
