Quotes

”...Waldorf education remains to become better known to Americans. Other independent educational movements, much less thoroughgoing in their attempts to integrate at every level of education art, science, and an appreciation of the fully human, have curiously been given much more attention. At a time of searching and reappraisal in American education, the Waldorf Movement with its unique understanding of the education of the child and its years of teaching practice and institutional experience deserves the informed consideration of those genuinely concerned with education and the development of human wholeness.”

Prom 1 May 2008

Dear High School Families,

As you probably know, our CWS Prom is this coming Saturday, May 3 at Marcello’s, 645 W. North Avenue between 7-11pm. Our Student Council and 11th graders are busy planning what promises to be a wonderful evening! For the first time in our school, the 11th graders raised money so that our seniors could be guests at the prom. Thank you to everyone who came to our benefit last Saturday evening. We not only raised enough money for the seniors and lopping off of David Dozier’s ponytail, but also about $1200 for Philemon’s tuition at the Inkanyezi Waldorf School in South Africa.
We have reminded the students that all school rules apply at prom. We also want to request that you that if you are picking up your student after the prom, please arrive at 11:00 pm so your students’ dear teachers can get some sleep that night! Also, we want to let you know that there will be a designated outside area for students to get some fresh air. However, if students choose to leave that designated area they will not be permitted back into the prom. Hopefully, none of you will receive a phone call asking for an earlier pick-up!
